Our own thoughts can keep us at a certain level of perceived danger.
The organism can be kept on a degree of high alert by our constant or accustomed usual negative thoughts about “dangers” out there.
This not to say there are not real dangers to be aware of, but our often unperceived story, underlying and undetected, may falsely keep us at a level of alert that simply is not warranted.
Meditation and yoga can short-circuit these “stories” that lurk in the background of our being and free us to relax more into life as it is.
Decreasing false dangers (and problems) prepares us more for being relaxed, yet alert and ready, with keener presence for the myriad of situations that inevitably come along.
