Uncomfortable guests in the house of the open heart

There is no courage without fear,
no fortitude without vacillation,
no joy without sadness,
no pleasure without pain.

Our open heart can no more rush away any of these uncomfortable “guests” than the sky can rush “undesirable” weather through it.
