In meditation instructions, we are often told to refresh our posture–to take a few deep breaths, to ground our sit bones, to relax the shoulders and elongate the spine….
Through yoga poses, breath work, meditation, and self-study, we “refresh our posture” in relation to our lives and the world–our perspective shifts from a contracted heavier state to a more expansive and uplifted one, and we somehow feel better.
Situations in our lives may not have changed at all, but we have changed; we have refreshed our posture with respect to them.
And what a difference in our lives and the world this can make!
