Let go to the impossible

If you think you know what it is you’re supposed to learn, you may not be open to what you are “supposed to” learn.

Treat yourself like the teacher who thinks he/she knows the student’s limits, but who lets go of these ideas, who has faith in the student’s abilities, and who works hard no matter what to teach the student.

In the end, all too often, the student far exceeds the teacher’s wildest dreams.

Believe in yourself to achieve the impossible beyond your wildest dreams, and become what you are “supposed to.”

Reduce your load!

Just before meditation or yoga, we traditionally and symbolically take off our shoes.

We can set aside our baggage as we enter the practices. Fear not, everything will still be there when we get back.

Oddly, following the practices, gathering our stuff, we may leave behind some of our baggage recognizing it as unnecessary, getting in the way of our journey forward.

And what remains might just seem a little more valuable, more necessary and useful as we move forth!

Live!

In yoga philosophy, Consciousness takes the form of the prana or vital life force–in humans the form of the breath.

Consciousness breathes us all our living days.

All we have ever had, or ever will, is the moment of BEING alive.

Our yoga and meditation practices awaken us to this!

Namaste.

Tending love

Love, like the rose to grow and open, cannot be forced.

But conditions for the rose’s health and prosperity can be tended–sufficient watering and fertilizer and treatment to prevent disease and insect infestation…

Similarly, a regular and balanced yoga practice* can help grow your love.

*including imbibing the teachings of yoga (the sutras) and a practice of poses or asanas, breath work/pranayama, and meditation.
