Free… free life

Even the letting go of letting go needs to be let go of. . .   to let go!

Yoga and meditation help us negotiate this ever-changing flow of life we can never hold, contain, or possess.

It is in the letting go that we are paradoxically able to live more fully!

Disempowering the harsh critic

At times the internal harsh critic dominates the table.  It’s hard to get a word in edgewise. It clouds the table with a murky fog that dims any light from coming through.

However, if I can muster the courage to give it even a kind look, or a slight warm smile, this is certain to throw it off-guard.  It’s not used to any acceptance.  Its power is non-acceptance.  It lives through fear, and terror, and harshness, and anger, and shame.

It heretofore has not known kindness.

It softens some.  Maybe it surprises even itself with a little smile, a chuckle to itself.  It has a lot to learn from kindness.  Things may not be so bad after all.

It is somehow being transformed by its new friend–kindness.

All aboard!

Meditation and yoga are like getting on a train and taking a journey and returning to the embarkation station a different person.*

Toot, toot!  All aboard!

*Somehow refreshed, more centered, and a little more ready for what lies ahead.
