Out of the maze to greater peace and happiness

Deep habits of being–of thought, feeling, and behavior–we very well may not even be aware of can unnecessarily limit our peace, happiness, joy, and love.  These habits of being that are “normal” for us can limit our vision and trap us from seeing our way out of their maze.

Yoga and meditation over time can change all this.  These practices can take us out of the maze of our limited self and free us to changes that are absolutely… AMAZING!

Prepared for life as it is

Our own thoughts can keep us at a certain level of perceived danger.

The organism can be kept on a degree of high alert by our constant or accustomed usual negative thoughts about “dangers” out there.

This not to say there are not real dangers to be aware of, but our often unperceived story, underlying and undetected, may falsely keep us at a level of alert that simply is not warranted.

Meditation and yoga can short-circuit these “stories” that lurk in the background of our being and free us to relax more into life as it is.

Decreasing false dangers (and problems) prepares us more for being relaxed, yet alert and ready, with keener presence for the myriad of situations that inevitably come along.

Change wakes us!

Like a snake and its tight skin, as our life situation changes, we shed that which no longer fits our lives–certain attitudes and behaviors,  patterns of thought, action, and feeling.

Yoga and meditation support this transformation.

And they help us be more awake or alive to the changes that are awakening us!

Great inner peace

As the vicissitudes of the mind slow via yoga and meditation,
we may experience glimpses of the thought-free state–
the mind expansive and open,
absorbed in the stillness, the bliss, and the love.

The mind’s thoughts no longer dividing things in pieces,
we experience wholeness or oneness.

The undivided mind experiences this wholeness or oneness–unity consciousness.

As the witness, you can experience this wholeness even while the mind is in the midst of thought.

Emotions: a mindful approach

Emotions are much like irregular waves that come up to the shore of our being for a while, and then recede.

Let your being be their shore for as long as they may be.
With a slight smile, welcome them
to inform your decisions and choices.*

Yoga and meditation practices support this mindful approach.

*The shore does not resist or argue with any waves that come its way.
It equally welcomes all waves without judgment or favoritism.
