Returning

What is it that carries me and lifts me upward?

Whether during difficult or easy times, our yoga and meditation practices return our awareness to it again and again so we can be reminded of and feel its steady support.

Resisting the flow, going with the flow

It can be painful to swim upstream.  It takes a lot of effort and strength–inward as determination, outward in muscle fiber.

Yoga and meditation can help build the resources when, like the salmon to spawn, you have to go against the flow or current for some reason.

There are times when the pain is worth it, when you have to fight for certain causes.

And, there are times to quit resisting the flow and go with it–times to smile and enjoy, and celebrate and be at ease in the flow.

Yoga and meditation can help with this too!

Leaving this web of suffering

Suffering is a fact of this world.  And certainly some suffer more than others.  But nonetheless, we all have our own cross to bear, or for that matter, many crosses!

Being angry at pain and suffering only creates more pain and suffering.

Bring it compassion, and see what happens!

Is enlightenment an end somehow to being caught in this web of suffering?

And if so, how is this done?

Pain is a pain but…

Pain is an impetus for change, and is the sign to change.

It makes us aware of the need to do things differently.

It awakens awareness to open to and be on the lookout for how to change.

Change moves us forward with our life story.
