Timely change

Yoga and meditation, for most of us, are not about hurricanes or tornadoes…. they usually do not bring about instantaneous change.

No, they are more about gradual change over time from steady practice… like water dripping in cold air gradually forming an icicle.

Practice regularly with patience and determination.

Like a river meandering at the bottom of a grand canyon, it takes time to dig deep.

Frequent this frequency

Mantras are powerful. Heard by yogis in deep states of consciousness and yoga, Sanskrit mantras such as So’ham vibrate with the state of yoga.

As we repeat them, such as in meditation, they draw us into that state. We begin to vibrate with or in sympathy with that frequency.

We become aware of and open to this unity that is there all the time that we are so not in sync with and often oblivious to.

Meditate daily. Frequent this frequency!

Right under our very nose!

You’ve probably heard people say “I can’t believe this was going on right under my very nose,” having missed out on or been blind to the most obvious.

Such are yoga and meditation, like removers of blinders, so we can see and feel what is going on right under our very nose…

right now!

Right smack dab there the whole time!

Our nose is right there in front of us, and yet we don’t normally see it.

We have to make the effort (some us less effort due to our larger noses) to go cross-eyed, and then we can see our nose, right there smack dab in the middle of our face.

So too with yoga and meditation.

The mystery and truths of the life force are always with us, right here with us in every moment we breathe.

We only have to make the effort of regular practice to see what’s right here all along.

Smack dab right here… now!

All the world’s a… playhouse?

Imagine little children at play in a playhouse–the mommy, the daddy, the children, the dog, the cat… the grandma…. Such glee they have for all the parts they get to play with precision and abandon!

So too this life force we share playing all these parts–you and me–with such precision and abandon!

Through yoga and meditation, we come to know That which plays all these roles and has the audience and actors so mesmerized–the sorrows, the pains, the joys, the delights.

Remember the children in the playhouse….

Life in the raw

The mind is so enthralled, mesmerized by its stories–its almost constant swirl of emotions and thoughts and beliefs that it conjures day… and night.

Yet, through yoga and meditation, we can see through this veil of costumes the life force dramatizes. We can see and feel life in the raw, always ready to take on the next role life casts its way.

Continue to practice, because in this mirror of yoga and meditation, we come to know, respect and love all the more deeply life in the raw.

Nothing is so enthralling, my friend, as life in the raw!

The naked truth

The truth, naked, with no words or concepts to limit it… the truth that befuddles any attempts to define it….

In yoga and meditation, we withdraw our senses inward to gaze at, to feel, to…

its wonder!
