Enough

At the Passover dinner prayers, as God has granted numerous boons to the thwarted Jews, repeatedly the response to God is that any one of these blessings, in the face of hardships, would have been more than enough.

Such a humble and observant gratitude is at the heart of genuine gratitude.

Even with all that is difficult, such gratitude savors blessings. It truly appreciates.

Dayenu! “It would have been enough.”

Yoga and meditation foster such an attitude that notices and appreciates blessings. It does not expect our paths to be easy or without obstacles, but the practices foster a heart that helps us see our blessings and be full of wonder at them. And this gratitude helps us forge ahead in difficult situations or times.

Dayenu, y’all!

A very moving blog post

The power* that we meet in yoga and meditation can move mountains.

It already has.

It moves us also, and everything else.

As we practice, this same power moves us deeper into our being, into our heart–into our love, compassion, joy, and deep respect. This power can spontaneously make us sing, dance, cry, leap for joy, laugh…. and really change!

It is, after all, very moving!

Endless

The paths to improvement are endless, no matter what the endeavor–be it art, science, cooking, gardening, carpentry….

In yoga and meditation, the same holds. The paths to self-knowledge, greater peace of mind, joy, love, compassion, and enthusiasm are endless as well.

There is no limit to the depth or breadth we can go to. It’s a wondrous and mysterious journey, and it’s endless.

Don’t forget to bring snacks!

Less eclipsed

That which eclipses the radiance of our inner Self is burned away by the radiance of the Self itself through the practices of yoga and meditation.

In this way, the grace of practice gradually ushers us more and more into the radiance we all share, and are often ignorant of.

Our practices decrease this eclipsing of our inner light, revealing more of this shared light to us and this world.

That which we all share, this universal energy that connects us, no longer eclipsed, becomes more and more revealed and experienced and shared in our lives.

A burning issue

The kundalini shakti, or the prana shakti–whichever you call it–is the aspect of the life force activated by yoga and meditation that burns away impurities.

These impurities are not “sins” in the typical Judeo-Christian view. They are very different.

These impurities are simply anything that blocks the experience and realization of this marvelous life force.

The force clears its own way, if you will, for fuller realization and manifestation. It makes itself clearer by “burning away” anything that shrouds it.

As we practice our yoga and mediation, may we all catch fire. It will help make everything clearer!

A bright idea

Yoga and meditation, over time, wean us from our false identity with this ephemeral ego, mind, and body.

We come to see that we are this column of Light becoming us, becoming all of us.

Everything about you and me is an expression of this column of Light including me writing these words and you reading them.

Through the practices, we can align with this grounded rising light that we all really are!

The wildflowers of our heart

Through yoga and meditation, we can explore the wildflowers of our heart.

They arise unexpectedly here and there from seeds we’ve likely never seen.

They shine their beauty–whether it be joy, laughter, tears, ecstasy, peace or stillness… here for a while, and then gone!

These wildflowers of the heart are sweet moments to savor and share, with their monumental yet ephemeral beauty.

Golden!

A lot about life is like panning for gold. We want to hold onto the nuggets that sparkle and have great value, and we throw out the rest.

Yoga and meditation mine our being and our lives for what is golden.
