I do not need to feel your pain to feel for your pain.

Let your daily life be your Himalayas
In the yoga and meditation I practice, the events of daily life are the vehicles for transformation.
Here, now, with events just as they are, is always the starting point to practice.
Seeing through ego
Ego is attachment to the roles we play. Like a fog to a mirror, it can cloud our vision of our true greatness.
See beyond ego to that which plays these roles, to something greater, to being itself.
Unmasking
Yoga and meditation are gradually unmasking the roles we take on in this life.
Who is it that takes on these roles that never becomes them, playing at them?
Meeting challenging times
The recent years here in northern California with their October deluge of wildfires and smoke have reaffirmed and clarified a mantra from my yoga teacher.
Repeat “I am safe” particularly in dangerous or precarious times, when in fear or worry or anxious.
Repeat this with the following understanding: I have the resources to meet any challenges that come my way.*
*In addition thanking my teacher, I have several close friends who have had serious cancer to thank for this insight about strength… those who survived and those who did not.
Incinerate your “perfect” suit
The Perfect Apparel Store on Ego Street sells the perfect suit–so heavy and constricting, it’s sure to weigh you down.
It’s anything but comfortable, very stressful to wear. You will squirm constantly in it and never feel satisfied or content.
When you look in the the mirror, you’ll always find fault with yourself in it, never looking good enough.
The fire of yoga and meditation will incinerate this suit from the inside out, and it will fall in ashes at your feet.
You will feel so much more content and free without this suit in your closet!
Perfect, don’t you think?
Seriously?!
Laughing yoga is no laughing matter.
Giving you a peace of my mind
The calm mind is like a placid ocean with an endless horizon.
Explore its infinite reaches through your yoga and meditation.
Exponentially expanding blessings
It’s such a blessing to share your blessings!
It’s a mathematical thing….
Do the math!
An amazing balancing act
I can’t be too sad where there is joy,
or too angry where there is compassion;
where there is nervousness, bring a bit of calm,
to conflict bring compromise,
to anxiety some confidence and inner peace….
Our yoga and meditation practices can help bring us into balance–feeling our feelings deeply while still staying centered.
