Positively grateful

Notice when you are genuinely grateful.

When you practice gratitude, there’s always enough fruit on its branches.

Gratitude is the doorway to a more uplifted and peaceful heart and state.

With practice, we may even come to see many clouds’ silver linings.

With practice, we can become positively grateful.

It’s official… We have a winner!

There’s a lot going on right now in the country and the world. (Need I tell you!)

It’s time to give your nervous system a break, a chance to reset, a chance to catch up and absorb what’s happening. Some relief.

This is the perfect time for a little more meditation and restorative yoga poses.

Voting for more of these practices now is a sure-fire winning strategy. A real election victory!

Out of chaos

When blown asunder by strong emotions and/or life’s seeming chaos, we can turn to our yoga practices–asanas, pranayama, and/or meditation– to help return our sense of equilibrium or equanimity.

Who, I ask, would not be grateful for such a dependable friend?!

Equanimity training

Think of a yoga pose as balance within flux.

Whether it be asanas (poses), pranayama (breath work), or meditation, in yoga we practice this relative steadiness no matter what’s going on in our lives and the world.

This trains an equanimity* or equipoise** for even difficult times that we have practiced.

Particularly helpful when things are potentially volatile, don’t you think!?

*Equanimity–stability, calm, composure especially in difficult times or situations

**Equipoise–a balanced state of mind; a state of equilibrium; counterbalance. Often associated with a steadiness in the midst of change.

Election night YOGA!

Break out some favorite music. Play it LOUD!

Let the music and your body move you.

Dance… into and out of yoga poses. Flow! Feel it… and BREATHE!*

User discretion advised. Can be addictive. For relieving and transforming stress and worry, and carrying you… maybe even to joy and ecstasy. Repeat as necessary!

*And don’t forget you can really dance like nobody’s watching, because nobody is since we’re in a pandemic!

Which wave will you ride?

We all feel different emotional waves.

Like a surfer in the water laying on the board watching the waves, you too must decide which wave you will ride to shore.

Which will give you the better ride? The wave of anger, hatred, anxiety… or the wave of joy, love… of peace?

Which wave will you ride?
