Scolding life?

The ego struggles with what it does not “like” or want happening, when its version of how things should be are violated by life’s freewheeling antics.

Like an authoritarian teacher with a misbehaving student who simply must learn the rules of acceptable behavior, the ego self-righteously may scold life for violations of its hallowed ways.

Life, inevitably, will win this battle for control because life has a life of its own.

We are but its players prideful at times to a fault in our “rules,” angry at the story for not following our ego’s edicts.

And yet it is possible for us, with patience and insight, to catch it at its game and have compassion for it, and let go with love to life!

This is where meditation and yoga can most certainly help us….

Feeling our greatness

The ego wants to keep us involved with and limited by its small or petty grievances and worries.  This keeps it fully employed.

It is not our smallness that scares us but our greatness.  Or at least this threatens the ego which harvests its power and influence by keeping us in its confines.

It is as though this drop of water does not recognize it is actually the ocean.

Feel the ocean and recognize who we really are!
