The gift of stillness: our true North Star!

We sometimes hang onto our emotional pains as though they were our North Star of identity.  In this way, we let them shape our lives.

Feeling emotional pain is a much better way to go.

When you really get tired of being pushed around by them, you can become willing to feel them, and move on.

Feelings never killed anyone!

It’s never more than you can stomach, or at least not usually….  We are amazingly resilient creatures.

Our great love and stillness and joy–these are our true North Stars–true to our hearts and our being.

A happy anniversary: Yay yoga!

Just over a year ago today, struck with a sudden and severe bout of sciatica, I was barely able to walk even a step or stand without experiencing excruciating pain like I, fortunately, had never felt before.

Six weeks later I could walk slowly without a cane, and 3 months later I began a course of action to heal.

Today, one year past, it is my great good fortune that I am substitute teaching a yoga class!

I rejoice at the body’s ability, this time, to heal and at the many forms healing took– physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

I am so thankful to yoga and meditation for their essential role and to the many people instrumental to my healing.

Yay!

Pain as a doorway

Pain can be a doorway showing an area of the body to pay attention to to strengthen and/or loosen, to let go of old ways that hamper progress.

Yoga combined with meditation can help walk us through the doorway to what lays beyond….
