A miracle we get to visit for a while

Breathing…

A miracle…

Heart beating,

Synapses firing…

A thought….

Stomach gurgles,

Intestines digesting,

Blinking…

Eyes seeing,

Heart warming…

A miracle this body we get to visit for a while.

Pains,

Illness,

Cut skin,

Viruses and infections,

Seizures,

Strokes,

Heart disease….

My gosh it’s a journey, this organism we get to visit for a while….

Cruelty,

Kindness,

Bliss,

A smile,

Tears of sadness and pain…

Meditation and yoga can help us care for and more inhabit and enjoy this organism we get to visit for a while.

A miracle we get to visit for a while….

What drives you to do better?

Fear driven:  The push for quality because it can never be good enough.

Love driven:  The push for quality to celebrate life and because quality is a thing of beauty in itself.

The former is sad and feels good only with compliments to counter one’s own bad feelings about oneself and what one does as “inadequate.”

The latter creates out of love and equates quality with beauty and joy for life and sees all improvement in this light.  Worthiness of the creator is never in question.

Feeling life

Do not let your emotions deter you from your meditation or yoga practices.  Sometimes they seem to make going to the mat or the cushion seem nearly impossible.

In fact, both meditation and yoga, over time, can steady your state and strengthen your core so you gradually feel more, and are less tossed about unwittingly by their waves.

May we bring how we feel to our practices and to our hearts, and let it be transformed!

No longer completely enthralled

If our thoughts lose our attention, they no longer can take us willy-nilly on their usual roller coaster antics.

In meditation, when we bring our attention again and again to our breath or a mantra, these thoughts lose the captivated audience of our attention.

With our attention no longer enthralled, our thoughts will eventually slow down and start to settle.

The mind may then begin to settle and get a well-deserved break and feel some peace.

Meditate….
