Equanimity amid the flux

The silence in the gong's ring witnesses the sound...
and the sound witnesses the silence.
So too with us--our inner silence can witness all the fluctuations of our mind and being,
and we can witness the silence amidst our thoughts.

Yoga and meditation can foster this greater equanimity in the midst of this constant flux.

Our rock of steady support

Yoga and meditation can help us maintain and restore greater equanimity in the midst of life’s challenges, even those that arouse fear, panic, and/or anger.

This greater equanimity can be our base and rock to stand upon.

Greater equanimity can be but a few breaths or a yoga pose away.

Yoga as humanity lessons

Two things really help with forgiveness:

1) Realize everyone really is doing the best they can given all their resources and abilities at that time.

2) Compassion breeds forgiveness, with heartfelt acceptance of limitations and strengths, love of our imperfect and vulnerable humanity.

Our yoga and meditation practices are the mirrors that constantly teach us about our humanity.

A kind eye

Yoga and meditation can usher us into a kinder space–one that more gently accepts ours and other’s foibles and shortcomings, one that can maybe smile and possibly even chuckle at our mistakes and those of others.

More accepting, softer, gentle, yet strong with intention to love and smile on us just as we are.

Kindness sees acceptance where others can’t; it sees beauty where others can’t.

Kindness is rose-colored glasses that sees with love, not to deny life’s difficulties but to accept them compassionately.

Letting love draw us

As we pass through our yoga and meditation practice, we are recalibrated–brought more in tune, less agitated.

This improved inner state naturally draws us to the practices like lovers to one another or parent to child.

Love is the draw!

Yoga and meditation as portals

No matter how diffuse our energy is at the start, yoga and meditation help ground and align us.

We grow more steady and peaceful.

It’s as though we enter and pass through a portal where, though nothing in reality has changed, we have changed.

We are feeling and thinking more clearly, and maybe steadier, more joyful, lighter.

In this way, yoga and meditation transform our experience of this world and how we are in the world. Thereby, we help transform this world.
