The peace at our core

We all love those moments of conditional peace…. We might even relish their relief and restorative qualities to the spirit.

Unconditional peace is beyond circumstance. It is the inner peace that requires no conditions.

Through our yoga and meditation, we can nurture and develop our relationship with this peace that is always there with us.

Yoga/Meditation and the gravity of the mind

Of course, with fewer thoughts our mind is more peaceful. Like a mountain lake undisturbed by breezes, it settles.

In yoga and meditation, we become the witness of our thoughts as we watch our breath. We quit interceding so much in our thoughts and stirring them up.

With less stirring, there’s a natural gravity of the mind to settle.

The less disturbed mind can settle of its own gravity and become calmer and clearer… like our mountain lake.

Growing peace

In caring for others, do not give up your inner peace, but bring it to share.

The practices can help us recover when we stumble, to regain our solid footing in the peace of our golden heart.

When we share in the gift of peace, we grow it!

Letting go to peace

In our attachment to our thoughts and feelings, there is no peace. We are tossed hither and yonder by them.

However, as we let go of this attachment, we become free and at peace.

Again and again, in yoga and meditation, we can practice this. These practices literally help us let go!

Feed your monkey-mind a banana!

We can slow a monkey’s swinging and antics with a banana.

So too we can slow our monkey-mind with the most satisfying bites of its own bliss and peacefulness that arise as it slows.

E-e-e, o-o-o! Feed your monkey-mind through your meditation and yoga!

Feed the monkey-mind what it really wants. As it slows, it can feast on the bliss and peacefulness that arises. Satisfied and content, the mind can ease its restlessness and become more still.

A peace of gratitude

There’s a great peace in gratitude, a contentment that squelches our craving bringing a satisfied smile to our being.

There’s a great peace in gratitude, in this moment needing nothing but now.

Practice the yoga of gratitude. Its fruits are so satisfying!
