Awakening to it!

Life is transformation. Nothing is static about it until death, and even then maybe only possibly,.

We all have boxes of comfort and custom, of habit and security that we “construct” around ourselves. Some we may like and choose or need to keep, and others we may want or need to step out of to awaken more to life, its wonders and many splendors.

Yoga and meditation can help us negotiate our fears, insecurities, and discomforts to find the courage and enthusiasm to grow outside our “boxes” and become more alive!

“Grasping” the mysterious

Try to grasp or embrace the mist in a cloud forest, and you will come up always empty-handed.

Life takes infinite forms that, like the mist, arise, exist, and subside.

So much of life remains mysterious, occluded by the mist of the mind.

In meditation and yoga, we at points rise above the mist to get a grander and more lucid view and experience.

Bon voyage!

We are always traveling from this moment into the next, a complete unknown though usually “planned.”

Yoga and meditation awaken us to this awareness.

The precipice of the next moment is always an embarkation of a journey, again and again.

The Every Day Yogi is about to begin a different kind of journey, a trip to Ecuador.  Though there will be less blog posts during the coming weeks, yoga and meditation can fit easily into any trip requiring no suitcase of their own.

My cup runneth over!

Am I a spiritual being having a physical experience, or a physical being having a spiritual experience?

“We are both!” I say.

A union of opposites…

The resulting bliss is much like a beer tap left on, its effervescence overflowing the glass.
